The future of (a)social state

Europe is in crisis. Most Europeans are living beyond tehir incomes. So will we end as Greece, or we can find some sustainable way of living? Is it not time to rething the concept of a social state that takes cre about everybody?

A discussion is a part of the international series of the debates "TIME TO TALK" of T he European Network of Centers for Debate and originated in co-operation with Agora Central Europe, Czech Republic.

The European Network of Centers for Debate organises a series of civic debates across European cities on issues and problemes that currently put pressure on the Europeane project. The underlying aim of these debates is to better understand the rapidly changing social, political and ecnomic environment in Europe, and to discuss particular issues that effect the lives of citizens today.

The outputs of the debates are a publication of the 15 minutes films on Eurozine website (www.eurozine.org), which will establich a special sub-page, dedicated to Debate in Europe, and a preparing a report on the cleavages in our societies: a kind of a "warning paper" on the future of European societies.
