An educational programme for schools from The Role of Art / Roles in Art set of programmes

the "architect" role

What happens to things that have ceased to serve their purpose? What happens with such a building? What function can be found for it, and shall we even seek any? Isn’t it easier to level the old structure and build a new one? A Fairy Tale About a Factory tells a story about a dilapidated Holešovice factory, which, thanks to the effort of several individuals, has become a premises that elevates both body and mind. Within the program, children will become builders and saviors, engage their imagination and learn during the workshop that “old” does not necessarily mean “non-useful” or “non-usable”. At the same time, their task will be to find a new function for the “old-new” building, which they have created through a joint effort. This can sometimes be quite a tough nut!

An integral part of the program is a tour through mysterious nooks of the large building of the DOX Center, which is sometimes reminiscent of a labyrinth, while discussing art and non-art, in such a way the children will enjoy.
