An educational programme related to the psychological concept of MINDSET

Are my capabilities inherited? Do my own mistakes discourage me from further attempts? Or can I exceed my limits? This educational programme, which uses the methodology of Professor Philip Zimbardo's Heroic Imagination Project, searches for an answer to the question of how we can change people's mindset, which up to new we assumed to be largely inborn. Contemporary psychology, which has introduced the concept of mindset, recognizes two types: fixed and growth. The difference between the two is key to our ability to learn. People with a fixed mindset don't like challenges, and prefer tasks they can manage. People with a growth mindset, on the other hand, see a challenge as an opportunity for development, which is why they have a much greater ability to fulfil their true potential.

A fixed or growth-based way of thinking affects various areas of our lives, from logical thinking to social skills and artistic creativity. This educational programme therefore first of all familiarizes students with the fact that something like fixed and growth-oriented thinking even exists; through various activities it allows them to discover areas in which they have a fixed mindset and where an open one, and confronts them with challenges that require them to take responsibility for themselves and encounter their own mind. In the programme, students will find out first-hand that despite our inborn tendencies, we're capable of changing during the course of our lives.

The programme develops creativity and critical thinking, and works with students' ability to overcome obstacles to learning in other areas of life too. It is also suited for those preparing for entrance or school-leaving exams.
