Modes of Democracy

In its eight chapters, the catalogue for the current exhibition, Modes of Democracy, includes art projects from around the world that create both inspirational stories of democracy taking place at various levels – from neighbourhood, town, and city to a global level. The exhibition, whose topic is based on the question whether the traditional form of democracy is on the retreat, thus reacts to massive monitoring and disappearing privacy, successes of populist politicians, and the return of authoritarian regimes, all of which are increasingly common. The exhibition includes dozens of artists from five continents such as Harun Farocki, Paolo Cirio, Daniel Latorre, and Todd Lester, with Czech artists including Jiří Černický, Michaela Thelenová, and Zdena and Michal Koleček.
