the “viewer” role
Art in Your Pocket22. 3. - 12. 8. 2019
What all is covered by the term contemporary art and what paths does art show us? What is a work of art and how can we recognize it? And where is the border between a work and its author? And where is the border between exhibited work and viewer-participant? And does it matter if it is architecture or design? Perhaps everyday life affects and surrounds us more than we think.
The conviction that the viewer helps create the work gives this programme its key instrument for an exciting search: a search for works of art versus objects of daily use inside the gallery. During an interactive tour of the current exhibition as well as during an art workshop, participants will be encouraged to express themselves actively. And various clues lead us to the realization that each one of us can be an artist, and that art can even be created from the contents of our own pockets.
