Czech Hero focuses on the contemporary and pressing topic of disinformation and political marketing. The satirical physical theater production is loosely inspired by the personality of a Czech journalist who approaches the topic of disinformation with empathy and unbreakable endurance. Movement, words, live music, dynamics, energy, exaggeration. Farm in the Cave production is more concrete than dance and more abstract than drama. Czech Hero is here for those who care. Not just for liberals.
They. We avoid them, we don't want to live in their world, we give up on confronting them before even trying. And we mutually despise each other.
She. She personally encounters those who mercilessly scold her. Repeatedly.
"I have to go see what their garden looks like, what they’re saying, how they live because otherwise I'll be afraid of them and I won't be able to understand them."
The satirical physical theatre show is loosely inspired by the personality of the journalist Ivana Svobodová, whose "mission" got her into the living room of a pensioner who wanted to save our "little country" and thereby became "the first Czech terrorist": “It catches your attention, that someone chops down some trees, want to derail a train, and pretends to be a Muslim.”
In the show Czech Hero, the political and the intimate, the public and the personal, intertwine. The production is about the bonds we form with each other, no matter how alien we might be. About the relationships in a society of clashing opinions; about what we are willing to do for the world we want to live in.
Dynamic movement, word, live music, energy, exaggeration. As we are already used to with Farm in the Cave, the production is more concrete than dance and more abstract than drama. For those of you who still care. Not just for liberals.
