Visual Art, Architecture, and Design

Concept

Who is the viewer, artist, curator, or architect? Programmes from this educational line work with uncovering the stereotypes of different roles in artistic practice and using their metaphors that cross over into everyday life. Although specific programmes are often prepared for time-limited exhibitions, the programme itself is long term.

Programmes

Art In Your Pocket

In this programme, the conviction that the viewer is a co-creator of the work creates the main premise for an exciting investigation: the search for artworks versus everyday objects in the gallery space. During the interactive tour of the current exhibition and during the art workshop, participants are encouraged to actively express themselves.

Sticking Your Neck Out

The Artist. What does it mean to “stick your neck out”? What role does courage and the ability to go your own way play in any kind of creation? The works of artists, writers, composers, and others often invite us into their own stories, and authenticity is valued, whether it conveys beauty, joy, or despair.

DJ Curator

As in the case of a DJ, the ability to select and choose is a crucial factor for a curator. In the environment of an exhibition, participants in the programme are given the opportunity to remix its content and then reflect on what their choices have created and communicated. To choose means selecting and making final decisions, essential competences not only for artistic practice, but also for life in our contemporary world oversaturated with visual stimuli.

Fairy Tale about a Factory, Space for Adjustments, Stop by

Three different programs for different age groups that turn the architecture and design of the DOX Centre in a game – stories, possibilities, limits, and various paths to take. Architecture is a space that we co-create through our perception.
