Opening event of BERG Orchestra's new season.
Contemporary music performed by the BERG Orchestra – new season’s opening concert! Psychedelico-lyrical fresco WhatsPop (2022) by French composer Aurélien Dumont combines contemporary music, pop culture, philosophy, and literature. The exceptionally demanding vocal part reflects a huge number of musical styles and voice registers, from Renaissance music to rock and noise. The work also includes a dialogue between the musicians and singer with a selected personality on the topic of pop culture in music. The composer Aurélien Dumont will be present in person for the Czech premiere of his work in Prague!

The BERG Orchestra is an excellent Czech ensemble specialized in the performance of contemporary music. Since its inception it has commissioned and premiered almost three hundred new works. In 2021, it won the prestigious Prix Italia award for the Czech Republic for the first time in more than half a century.
This event is organized jointly by the BERG Orchestra and DOX Centre for Contemporary Art.
