For eight years, the BOO International Film Festival operated under the name Young Film Fest. It now returns with a new identity and an expanded scope that speaks not only to children and young audiences, but to everyone interested in short films. All this once again at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art.
The festival focuses on professional European short films, while also offering educational and industry programs that connect film professionals, teachers, and students. At DOX, the industry strand will spotlight women filmmakers, intimacy in film, a case study of contemporary series production, workshops on audience design and screenwriting, and an international forum on audience development, film (audiovisual) education, and links between film and the world of video games.
The programme will also include the public evening Work Hard, Fail Hard – a series of candid conversations about failure in the film and audiovisual world, where professionals share what went wrong and how it changed their work.
DOX will also host parts of the youth juries 12+BOO and 15+BOO – programmes for students aged 12–14 and 15–19 that combine screenings of the best European short films with discussions, reflection, and workshops (from DJ curation to editing craft).
BOO interlaces film forms, education, and social themes in a lively dialogue across generations and professions.
At the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, the festival will run 5–8 November 2025. The full festival will take place 3–9 November 2025.

An exhibition presenting photographs and drawings by Joel-Peter Witkin from 2010-2025. The exhibited works, by one of the most influential authors who brought photography to the forefront of the visual arts, show why his work continues to shape the way we think about the body, memory, and the meaning of images.
Dan Nguyen: Sediments
An exhibition of Dan Nguyen's work reminiscent of assemblages, collages, and patchworks at the Archive of Fine Arts. Every spontaneously found material is a new opportunity to discover another approach to creation.
