DOX invites you to a series of summer movie nights under the stars. Get hit by the movie The Truman Show.

The film The Truman Show explores the power of the media and the increasingly blurred line between reality and its media or virtual representation. Until he is nearly thirty, Truman Burbank has no idea that he has been living in a massive film studio since birth and that he is the star of a television series with worldwide popularity and high ratings. Moreover, the creator of the popular series, director and producer Christof, has absolute control over Truman’s life. Ultimately, however, the biggest problem for Truman is not realizing the true state of affairs, but deciding to leave the fake, yet at the same time so safe and perfect world... The film is inspired by American reality TV series and, in its conclusion, unexpectedly evolves into a modern allegory of the biblical motif—the expulsion from paradise.

Directed by Peter Weir
USA 1998 / 103 min.
Film is shown in the original English language with Czech subtitles.
