An educational programme inspired by the Narrative 4 methodology and connected with the exhibition Miquel Braceló and the Written Worlds.
How much does a narrative need an illustration or an image need a story? At DOX we believe that a gallery like this and the exhibitions within it are like a big box full of stories, and all you have to do is choose. The programme draws inspiration from the diverse and stylistically rich works of Spanish artist Miquel Barceló.
The programme is based on the participants' own authentic stories, whereby authenticity is essential. Personal stories should be on the theme of "my experience that could be written about in a book" and no longer than 5 minutes. And because they are intended to be shared, each participant can decide whether to choose a sad, happy, serious, or light-hearted story. Participants prepare their stories in advance.
Just as a hidden story lies behind every picture, the right picture can illuminate (illustrate) a narrative. And it is narrative and illustration that are the fundamental elements of this programme in which participants, through the mutual sharing of stories inspired by the Narrative 4 methodology, develop empathy, imagination, fantasy, and the ability to express themselves and illustrate. Discover the artist in you – come tell, create, narrate.
