Educational programme from the permanent offer of The Role of Art / Roles in Art for the exhibition HIT BY NEWS.
Role: “Artist”
What does it mean to “stick your neck out”? What role does courage and the ability to go your own way play in any kind of creation? The works of artists, writers, composers, and others often invite us into their own stories, and authenticity is valued, whether it conveys beauty, joy, or despair. The reaction may be immediate, or it may take time, but the original creator is always sticking their neck out.
The extensive collection of Annette and Peter Nobel, presented in the exhibition HIT BY NEWS, displays hundreds of works by dozens of artists who incorporated "printed paper" into their work: newspapers, magazines, photographs, i.e., printed media, known as press art. The artists had different motivations, and their reasons evolved throughout the 20th century—incorporating new realities, criticizing society and the mass media, commenting on feminism, incorporating gender issues, and much more. The exhibition thus offers a wealth of inspiration, both in terms of form (various artistic techniques and processes) and content. Plenty of inspiration for your own expression and creation.
The educational programme includes various activities, commentaries, discussions and contemplation in the exhibition all with a final reflection.
