A family workshop for the exhibition HIT BY NEWS
Every important invention changes our lifestyle and often leads to pivotal events. Cheap paper and printing and the development of rail transport made it possible for the First World War to break out in just a short time. But it also meant that almost everyone could pick up a newspaper and read the latest news – and often great texts too. However, print media has long been sidelined by television, and even more so by the internet. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a look at the artistic responses to it in the exhibition HIT BY NEWS.
Print media, as it is presented here by dozens of renowned artists, not only evokes memories but also raises important issues that have occurred repeatedly throughout history. And, unfortunately, many of them will continue to do so. That’s why we will try to bring hope to the workshop Good News, where we will employ various artistic means and techniques so that we don’t overlook what’s important and valuable in the deluge of bad news.

HIT BY NEWS takes a lucid and critical look at the fascinating topic of a society that was, is, and will continue to be shaped by the media. It presents a selection from the collection of Annette and Peter Nobel.
Berg Orchestra: WhatsPop
New season’s opening concert. Psychedelico-lyrical fresco WhatsPop by French composer Aurélien Dumont combines contemporary music, pop culture, philosophy, and literature. The composer Aurélien Dumont will be present in person for the Czech premiere of his work in Prague.

GA-I-SU-RA
A homage to Petr Geisler and his work, GA-I-SU-RA also pays tribute to calligraphy as a form of inner expression, reminding us that writing and beautiful script have always been a natural reflection of (not only) a pure soul. From his expressive calligraphy through multiple-exposure photography from 1980s Japan to his monumental inscription of the Buddhist Heart Sutra.
