The travelling exhibition Glass Without Borders is this year's third exhibition in the gallery design shop DOX by Qubus. The exhibition is part of a series of Exhibitions for Passing Audiences, which are organized in the DOX by Qubus space to expand horizons during a visit to the gallery shop.
Glass, a material that has attracted the attention of craftsmen and artists for millennia, never ceases to fascinate with its unique properties and wide range of uses. The travelling exhibition of the Glass Without Borders glass symposium will present the works of thirteen artists and designers who participated in the Lower Silesian Workshops and Symposium of Art Glass and Design e-Glass Festival 2024 in Szklarska Poręba during the summer from 15 to 28 July 2024. The e-Glass Festival glass symposium has been organised since 2008 by the Centre for Art Culture in Wrocław in cooperation with the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław.
The essential point of the e-Glass Festival is the exchange of experience between established artists, glassmakers, craftsmen and art students. The clash of different perspectives, stemming from generational and cultural differences, individual artistic visions and different professional backgrounds, creates a dynamic space for joint multidimensional exploration.
The selected artists create in glassworks in the Czech Republic and Poland during the symposium, and this 17th edition is groundbreaking in its selection of artists in that the organizers have expanded the participation of Czech and Polish artists to include artists from Ukraine, the USA, Canada and South Korea.
