This year's American Spring festival opens at Dox+ on May 10 with Uri Caine performing with the Moravian Phiharmonic under the baton of David Robert Coleman. The concert will feature the world premiere of Nein!, which Caine composed in 2020 to mark the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. Also on the programme will be Caine's Diabelli Variations in a Czech premiere, as well as other of his works alongside those of American experimental composer John Zorn.
Since 2006, the American Spring International Music Festival has been presenting first-class artists and young musical talents to spectators in Prague and other cities throughout the Czech Republic. Every year, the program offers concerts of jazz and classical music, workshops with leading personalities of the music world, theater, film and stage performances, as well as discussions on current social issues. The concept of the festival is based on mutual cultural relations and cooperation between America and the Czech Republic.

The second evening of the Prague Offspring series presents premieres of five new works by Czech and Slovak composers written for Klangforum Wien, commemorates the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, and climaxes with the Czech premiere of Nether, a dazzling work by the composer-in-residence Rebecca Saunders.
