A family art workshop relating to the exhibition Beyond Words, inspired by the methodology of Narrative 4
How much does a narrative need illustration and a picture need a story? At DOX, we believe that this kind of gallery and the exhibition inside of it are like a big box full of stories, and all you have to do is choose. The programme draws inspiration from the exhibition Beyond Words, which explores the possibilities of the rich material of books.
Just as there is a hidden story behind every picture, the right picture can illuminate (illustrate) a narrative. And it is narrative and illustration that are the fundamental elements of this workshop in which, through the mutual sharing of stories as inspired by the Narrative 4 methodology, we will develop empathy, fantasy, imagination, and the ability to express ourselves as well as illustrate. Discover the artist in you – come tell, create, narrate.

Eminent Kafka scholar Andreas Kilcher will present drawings by Franz Kafka discovered in 2019 in the context of Kafka's biography and art history as well as his literary work and his impressive book, which has been translated into ten languages to date.

The second evening of the Prague Offspring series presents premieres of five new works by Czech and Slovak composers written for Klangforum Wien, commemorates the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, and climaxes with the Czech premiere of Nether, a dazzling work by the composer-in-residence Rebecca Saunders.
