Summer with DOXie

15. 7. - 26. 8. 2017

Taking a break from school or kindergarten doesn’t just mean being at the pool! The DOX Centre’s summer programmes are filled with games and interactive encounters with contemporary art and architecture. You can thus spend five summer Saturdays with your children or grandchildren in a gallery surrounded by works of art, and accompanied by our instructors, enjoy creativity as a family.
15 Jul | 2 – 5 p.m.

In the Depths
A family art workshop for the BIG BANG DATA exhibition.

You know how it goes – you don’t know something or can’t remember, and you hear: “Find it on the internet.” But what exactly is the internet? Can you touch it? Is it large or small? Noisy or quiet? Illustrative examples and an original “interconnection” workshop will be offered in the first summer family workshop for the exhibition on data and everything on which it can be found.

29 Jul | 2 – 6 p.m.

DOXie’s Children’s Day

Open art workshops for the BIG BANG DATA exhibition and the GULLIVER airship.

This afternoon event for the entire family will feature several concurrent art worshops – all will be inspired (like you) by current exhibitions at the DOX Centre, and will thus be interconnected by the topics of information, transport, and sharing. This may sound a bit uninteresting, so aside from DOX instructors, illustrators from Raketa Magazine and the Krutón film workshop will make sure that the opposite is true.
12 Aug | 2 – 5 p.m.

Measure Me!
A family art workshop for the BIG BANG DATA exhibition.

Adults usually know what “big data” is – as also evidenced by the BIG BANG DATA exhibition, which explores the phenomenon of the information explosion, increasing amounts of data and their utilization is changing how society works in a fundamental way. But how does one explain “big data” to children? And turn it into an original art workshop? Come and see – this weekend, you will be able to touch data too for the last time at DOX!
26 Aug | 2 – 5 p.m.

Summer Ball
A family art workshop for the GULLIVER airship

Is the Earth round or flat? And how much does it contain? Where does it start and where does it end? Let’s take a string (its start) and try how much it will fill up. Each time we wind it around, it’s like one long trip – what will happen during its course? We’ll interesting combinations of materials: glass, balloons, and strings, and create our own planet.
The art workshops will be headed by DOX instructors, illustrators from Raketa Magazine and the Krutón film workshop instructors.

For children aged 5 to 99.
