Franz Kafka and contemporary artists: Mat Collishaw

How does literature inspire British artist Mat Collishaw's own creation? How do language and text find their way into his work, and what other artistic genres does he enjoy combining? Otto M. Urban, curator of the KAFKAesque exhibition, will discuss with the British artist on board the airship Gulliver.

Beata Hlavenková & Kristina Barta

In the DOX+ hall, SOČR will present a double concert by singer and pianist Beata Hlavenková and jazz pianist Kristina Barta. The premiere will feature new compositions as well as music inspired by poetry.

6 Premieres

Six new works by four renowned composers – Roland Dahinden, Didrik Ingvaldsen, Jan Dobiáš, and Dag Magnus Narvesen – will be performed in one night. There will be not only internationally renowned soloists, but also larger ensembles – the original and variable PMP Orchestra, the PMP Ensemble, and Dust in the Groove.

Melancholy of the Outer Limits

The exhibition Melancholy of the Outer Limits presents, for the first time in its entirety, an extensive body of paintings created over the last ten years. Filled with faceless people lost in the ruins of cities, these paintings are a mirror of the artist's own soul.

Pavel Forman: TransForman

The exhibition will present thirty of the latest works by the painter Pavel Forman. The title of the exhibition can be understood as a play on words, referring of course to the artist’s name and at the same time to his favourite forms and approaches, which are in a sense “trans”, i.e. metamorphosing, transitional or mutating.

Kamila Ženatá: Everything Like at the Dawn of the World

The exhibition will present large-format abstract canvases by the Czech artist Kamila Ženatá, created over the last few years. A constant in her work is the constant search, the desire for knowledge, the effort to get closer to the mystery of human existence and to understand the order of the world.

Shelter

Contemporary music performed by the BERG Orchestra – new season opening! Czech premiere of a monumental work Shelter by three composers and founders of the New York’s legendary music collective Bang on a Can.
